Baraboo

Baraboo is a city located in Sauk County, Wisconsin, United States. It is situated along the Baraboo River and is about 40 miles northwest of the state capital, Madison. The city covers an area of approximately 7.47 square miles and has a population of around 12,048 people as of the 2019 census. Baraboo is known for its picturesque natural beauty, charming downtown area, and rich history.

The history of Baraboo dates back to the mid-19th century when it was first settled by European immigrants. The city was named after the nearby Baraboo River, which was derived from the French word "Baribeau," meaning "river of the wild goose." Baraboo quickly grew as a trading center due to its strategic location along major transportation routes, including the Baraboo River and the Chicago & North Western Railway.

One of the most notable attractions in Baraboo is the Circus World Museum, which showcases the city's deep connection to the circus industry.
