Raphael Bostic is an American economist who currently serves as the President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. He is the first African American to hold this position in the history of the Federal Reserve System.

Bostic is an expert in housing policy and public policy. Prior to joining the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, he served as the Chair of the Department of Governance, Management, and the Policy Process at the Sol Price School of Public Policy at the University of Southern California.

He also worked at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System as an economist and later as a senior economist. In addition, he has served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy Development and Research at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Bostic holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and economics from Harvard University and a Doctorate in economics from Stanford University. With his vast knowledge and experience, Bostic is a valuable asset to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and to the United States as a whole.
