Civita

Civita di Bagnoregio, commonly known as Civita, is a small hilltop town located in the province of Viterbo in central Italy. Situated about 120 kilometers north of Rome, Civita is perched on top of a tufa rock hill, surrounded by deep valleys and ravines. This unique geographical setting has earned the town the nickname "the dying city" due to its isolation and the continuous erosion that threatens its existence.
