Daveyton

Daveyton is a township located in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality in the Gauteng province of South Africa. It is situated about 20 kilometers east of the Johannesburg city center. With a population of over 150,000 people, Daveyton is one of the largest townships in South Africa.

The township was established in the 1950s during the apartheid era as a designated area for black Africans. It was originally named after its founder, David Bopape, but was later renamed Daveyton.
