Ishim

Ishim is a small town located in the Tyumen Oblast of the Russian Federation. Situated on the banks of the Ishim River, it serves as an administrative center of the Ishimsky District. The town is positioned approximately 100 kilometers northeast of Tyumen, the regional capital. Ishim has a population of around 60,000 residents, making it a relatively small urban settlement.

Despite its modest size, Ishim has a rich history that dates back to the 17th century. It was founded as a fortress in 1687 by the order of Tsar Feodor III as part of the Russian Empire's expansion into Siberia.
