Koboko

Koboko is a district located in the West Nile sub-region of Uganda. It is situated in the northern part of the country, bordered by South Sudan to the north, Arua District to the west, and Maracha District to the east. Koboko town is the administrative and commercial center of the district.

The district is known for its unique landscape, characterized by rolling hills and plains. The climate in Koboko is predominantly tropical, with two dry seasons and two rainy seasons. The area is also rich in natural resources, including fertile land suitable for agriculture and mineral deposits such as gold and limestone.

Koboko is home to a diverse population, with the majority being the Lugbara ethnic group. The people of Koboko are known for their hospitality and strong cultural heritage. Traditional practices such as music, dance, and storytelling play an important role in their daily lives.

The economy of Koboko is predominantly based on agriculture, with the main crops grown being millet, maize, sweet potatoes, and bananas. Livestock rearing, fishing, and trade are also important economic activities in the district.

Despite its natural beauty and potential for economic growth, Koboko faces some challenges, including limited access to clean water, education, and healthcare services.
