Moisson

Moisson France is a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting hunger and reducing food waste in France. The organization was founded in 1984 by a group of volunteers who wanted to address the growing issue of food insecurity in the country. Since then, Moisson France has grown into a network of 79 regional food banks that collect and distribute food donations to over 2,000 community organizations across the country.

Moisson France's mission is to collect and redistribute surplus food from various sectors - retail, food processing, agriculture - and to fight against food waste by promoting responsible consumption. The organization also provides support and training to community organizations, such as soup kitchens and shelters, to help them properly manage and distribute food donations.

Moisson France's work has had a significant impact on the fight against hunger and food waste in France. In 2019, the organization collected and distributed 138,000 tons of food, the equivalent of 276 million meals. Moisson France's efforts have also helped to prevent the emission of 43,000 tons of greenhouse gases, which would have been generated if the food had been discarded in landfills.
