Monguno

Monguno is a town located in the northeastern part of Nigeria. It is situated in the Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State. The town is positioned at a latitude of 12.6686° N and a longitude of 13.6136° E. Monguno is surrounded by several other towns and villages, including Marte, Kukawa, and Kaga. The population of Monguno is predominantly made up of the Kanuri ethnic group, which is one of the major ethnic groups in Borno State.

Monguno is known for its strategic location, as it lies along the major road that connects Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno State, to Lake Chad. This has made the town a commercial hub and a transit point for goods and people traveling to and from the lake region. The economy of Monguno is largely agrarian, with farming being the main occupation of the residents. The fertile soil and favorable climate in the area support the cultivation of crops such as millet, maize, sorghum, and cowpea.
