Mweka

Mweka is a town located in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), a vast country situated in Central Africa. It serves as an administrative center for Mweka Territory, which is part of the Kasai Province. Mweka is surrounded by dense forests and lush vegetation, characteristic of the DRC's tropical rainforest biome.

This region of the DRC is known for its rich biodiversity, with numerous species of plants and animals calling Mweka home. The town is located in close proximity to Upemba National Park, one of the largest national parks in the country. This protected area is a haven for wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, antelopes, and various primate species.

Mweka also holds cultural significance, as it is inhabited by various ethnic groups indigenous to the region. People belonging to the Luba and Lulua ethnicities form the majority, followed by other tribes such as the Tetela and Mbuun.

The town itself has basic infrastructure, with a few medical centers, schools, and local markets catering to the needs of the population. Due to its remote location, Mweka relies heavily on traditional agriculture and subsistence farming as the primary means of livelihood for its residents.
