Normanton is a small town situated in the Gulf Country region of North-West Queensland, Australia. It is the administrative centre of the Shire of Carpentaria and has a population of approximately 1,200 people.

The town was established in the 1860s during the gold rush and later became a major hub for the live cattle trade. Today, the economy is largely based on tourism and fishing. One of the main attractions is the Normanton Railway Station which is said to have the longest single-span curved cast-iron bridge in Australia.

The town is also known for its crocodile population and visitors can take a crocodile spotting tour on the Norman River. In addition, the nearby Karumba Port offers fishing charters and scenic flights over the Gulf of Carpentaria.

Normanton has a rich cultural heritage and is home to the Gulflander train which is a heritage listed railway line that runs to Croydon. The town also hosts the annual Outback Festival which showcases the region's unique history and traditions.
