Otsego

Otsego is a town located in the central part of the Otsego County, New York, United States. The town is named after the Otsego Lake, which was originally named "Lake Otsego" by James Fenimore Cooper, a famous American writer. The name Otsego is believed to be derived from a Mohawk word meaning "place of the rock." Otsego is home to many charming historic buildings, such as the Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard, which has been producing cider since 1856 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
