Parkland is part of the Miami metropolitan area and is located in Broward County. The city is known for its pristine parks and wildlife preserves.

Unfortunately, Parkland has also been the site of a tragic event. On February 14, 2018, a mass shooting occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, resulting in the deaths of 17 people and the injury of 17 others. The incident sparked nationwide debates on gun control and school safety, and the city of Parkland became a focal point in the aftermath of the tragedy.
