Getting to know Pinay

Marie Santos, a young Filipina, moved to France four years ago in hopes of a better future. Little did she know that life in a foreign country would be both challenging and rewarding. "It was difficult to leave my family and friends behind, but I knew I had to take the chance to live the life I've always dreamed of," Marie recalls.

Starting out as a hotel housekeeper, Marie faced the language barrier and cultural differences. But her determination to succeed pushed her to learn French and adapt to the French way of life. After a year of hard work, she was promoted to front desk receptionist, where she excelled in customer service and hospitality.

Now, Marie proudly calls France her home. She has made new friends, discovered new hobbies, and even fell in love with a Frenchman. "I am grateful for the opportunities that this country has given me. I may have left my roots, but I gained so much more in return," Marie shares.

Marie's story is just one of the thousands of Filipinos who leave their homeland in search of a better life. With grit and determination, they navigate the challenges of living in a foreign land and create their own success stories.
