Pio Ix

Pio IX, born Giovanni Maria Mastai-Ferretti, was elected as the 255th Pope in 1846. As the longest-reigning pontiff in history, serving for nearly 32 years until his death in 1878, Pio IX had a significant impact not only on the Catholic Church but also on various countries, including Brazil.
