Repton

Repton is a village located in the South Derbyshire district of the East Midlands region in England. It is situated on the southern bank of the River Trent, approximately 8 miles south-west of Derby. With a population of around 2,700 people, Repton is a small yet historically significant place.

The village has a rich history that dates back to the Anglo-Saxon period. In fact, Repton was once the capital of the Kingdom of Mercia, one of the most powerful Anglo-Saxon kingdoms in England. Evidence of this can be seen in the remains of an Anglo-Saxon monastery, which was founded in the 7th century and played a significant role in the spread of Christianity in the region.

Repton is also known for its prestigious public school, Repton School, which was founded in 1557. The school has a long list of notable alumni, including author Roald Dahl and former British Prime Minister Harold Macmillan.
