Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo is the capital and largest city of the Dominican Republic. It is located on the southeastern coast of the country and serves as the cultural, financial, and industrial center. Santo Domingo is also the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement in the Americas, as it was founded by Bartholomew Columbus, brother of Christopher Columbus, in 1496.

The city is known for its rich history and colonial architecture, with many buildings dating back to the 16th century. The Colonial Zone, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a must-visit area with its cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, and historic landmarks such as the Cathedral of Santa Maria la Menor, the oldest cathedral in the Americas.
