Zhovkva

Zhovkva is a small town located in the Lviv Oblast of Ukraine. It is situated about 21 kilometers north of the city of Lviv. Zhovkva has a rich history that dates back to the 16th century when it was founded by the Polish nobleman Stanislaw Zolkiewski. The town served as an important cultural and administrative center during the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and later under the Habsburg Empire.

One of the most significant landmarks in Zhovkva is the Zhovkva Castle, also known as the Castle of Zolkiewski. Built in the Renaissance style, the castle was originally constructed as a fortress to protect the town. It features a rectangular shape with four corner towers and walls adorned with ornamental reliefs. Today, the castle is a popular tourist attraction and serves as a museum, showcasing various exhibits and artifacts related to the town's history.

Another notable sight in Zhovkva is the Church of the Holy Trinity. Constructed in the Baroque style, this church stands as a remarkable example of the architectural beauty of the region.
